Three people were killed in a shooting at a mosque in the US city of San Diego, with authorities later finding two teenage suspects dead inside a vehicle parked near the Islamic Center of San Diego, according to local officials.
Investigators are now probing whether the attack was driven by hate, after law enforcement officials said one of the suspects had left behind a suicide note containing references to racial pride. Hate speech was also found written on one of the weapons used in the shooting, CNN reported.

The incident took place at the Islamic Center of San Diego, described as the largest mosque in the city. Officials said the suspects, aged 17 and 19, were discovered inside a vehicle close to the mosque shortly after the shooting.
Speaking to reporters, FBI San Diego Special Agent in Charge Mark Remily confirmed that the two suspects were found dead near the scene.
San Diego Police Chief Scott Wahl said both teenagers “appear to have died from self-inflicted gunshot wounds”.
According to CNN, investigators believe one of the firearms used in the attack had been taken from a suspect’s parents’ home before the shooting.
Authorities have not yet released the identities of the victims or provided details on what may have led up to the attack. Officials are continuing to investigate the case.
